Meet Gloria Allhiser, LPC

Gloria Allhiser is a licensed professional counselor serving the Fox Valley community since 2018, with over two decades of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s challenges. Her work is rooted in the belief that symptoms are not signs of brokenness, but reflections of the mind and body’s remarkable ability to adapt.

At In Between Counseling, Gloria creates a compassionate space where clients can explore the places they feel stuck—whether that’s anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational pain, parenting stress, or spiritual wounding. She brings a deep respect for each person’s story and works collaboratively to help clients reconnect with their needs, reclaim their sense of self, and move toward meaningful change.

Gloria is especially passionate about supporting individuals healing from religious or spiritual trauma and those navigating the complex terrain of emotional and nervous system regulation. Her approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and grounded in current neuroscience, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, and attachment-based frameworks.

Gloria holds a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Lakeland University (2014) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies from St. Norbert College (2004). She is a member of the American Counseling Association and is committed to lifelong learning in the service of healing, connection, and human flourishing.

Meet Faye Bader, resident therapist

Faye received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling through Liberty University in May 2025 and is in the process of obtaining her training license (LPC-IT) from the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). She is able to continue seeing clients under Gloria’s supervision as a pre-licensed master’s degree holder and will continue to do so once she has her LPC-IT in place. Faye has worked in health care for over twenty years in various settings and also has her Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Christian Counseling (Liberty University). Working as a registered nurse has given her a strong passion for helping others overcome difficulties. She has a strong passion for learning and continues to expand her knowledge of healing the mind after adversity. Faye is passionate about helping clients work through depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and adjustment.

Faye is able to see clients ages 8+ for a flat self-pay rate of $75/session and is able to accept some insurances (see our Rates & Insurances Accepted page for more information).

In addition to in-person counseling, we offer telehealth counseling to make it easier for you to get the mental health care you need.*

*Not all clients or client concerns are appropriate for telehealth counseling. We will discuss this with you at your first appointment.

Children & Adolescents

We offer individual counseling services for children ages 8+. Parents and primary caregivers are a critical part of treatment and are expected to be actively involved in the counseling process.

Adults

Adults can utilize in-person counseling as well as telehealth counseling services when appropriate. And while healthy individuals make healthy couples, even then sometimes a partnership can benefit from more structured support.

the story behind the name

“And if I decide to become a butterfly,” Yellow asked. “What do I do?”

“Watch me,” he said. “I’m making a cocoon. It looks like I’m hiding, I know, but a cocoon is no escape.

It’s an in-between house where the change takes place.”
